Here you will find information on how the year will work, including how a typical class will run, as well as the expectations of Year 11 Psychology.

Year 11 Psychology is run very similarly to Year 12 Psychology.

E X P E C T A T I O N S

​C O U R S E // O V E R V I E W

You are expected to:
  • Attend the vast majority of your classes
  • Complete all S,A.Cs and submit a medical certificate if you are absent for one.
  • Complete all reading prior to class
  • Finish all classwork and homework by the next class
  • Demonstrate respect and politeness towards your teacher and fellow students
  • If you miss a class, it is your responsibility to catch up.
The course covers the following topics: Research Methods, the role of the Brain, Psychological development, Normality, Sensation and Perception, Social Cognition and Social Influences.

You need to complete 6 SACs over the course of the year.

A // TY P I C A L // C L A S S

As you do the weekly reading, you are to write each definition on a cue card. In addition you are to dot point the most important pieces of information in your summary book.

It is important that you attend as many classes as you can and avoid missing classes. Of course this cannot always be avoided.

If you miss a class you are to complete the learning activities listed in the term plan online and to make sure you are up to date with your reading, summaries and definitions. You will do the quiz that you missed in the next class.
This is what you can expect from a typical class:
  1. Quiz on the reading that was set for homework
  2. Time to ask questions of anything you do not understand
  3. Review key aspects of topic
  4. Activities

​In addition you will have tests on each topic.
